Here for You
Here for You (H4U) is a student-run organization focused on promoting holistic wellbeing and preventing mental anguish.
H4U offers monthly mental health themed events, weekly discussion circles, resource catalogues, and collaborations across Pittburgh (e.g. CMU Mindfullness Room, Neda Walk, Mindscapes Pittsburgh).
We researched best practices within the mental health space in addition to information surrounding H4U's breadth of operations.
Reinventing how H4U interacts with and engages its dual audiences.
How can we craft a sustainable brand management system that appeaks to college students invested in mental health advocacy and engages college students seeking mental health support?
Created a three-pronged strategy for improving H4U's prescence on campus
(W)ebsite: Redesigned website to improve experience and communication to students
(I)nstagram: Created cohesive social media presence suggestions, templates, and sample promotions.
(N)ewsletter: Increased member touch points
Through the WIN strategy, DFA helped H4U rethink audience management.
We examined the inner workings of H4U through a series of interviews
Focus group with the board
1:1 interviews with members
General survey targeting all Carnegie Mellon students.
We reviewed the operations of other mental health orgs, from grassroots organizations to for-profit ones.
We found that H4U's root problem is it's difficulty engaging with its audience and differentiating from other mental health organizations on campus.
We narrowed the problem space by focusing on digital methods for engagement.
Digital methods were chosen for their distinct ability to differentiate H4U from other mental health organizations while promoting its reource.
Website, Instagram, and Newsletter improvements were chosen.
Multiple team members identified these areas as spaces for improvement, in addition to these areas being the most feasible to change during the scope of the project.
Solutions were presented to H4U board and the general CMU community.
Using our guide, H4U will sustain suggested changes leaving documentation for future generations of the board.
Working with H4U board to implement design changes over the course of the summer.
